General Description

Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulant medication (blood thinner) used to treat and prevent blood clots. It is prescribed for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which usually occurs in the leg, and pulmonary embolism (PE), which occurs in the lungs. It is also used to prevent blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation and those undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery.
