Preventive Measures Against Aedes Mosquito Bites
🌍 The manager of the Disease Control Group at Khuzestan Health Center discussed ways to prevent Aedes mosquito bites and the diseases they transmit in countries or provinces where these mosquitoes are present. He advised wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants, using mosquito nets while sleeping, and applying insect repellents. Additionally, it is crucial to eliminate stagnant water sources.
🌍 Engineer Homayoun Amiri added that Aedes mosquitoes are particularly attracted to dark environments such as old tires, which should be collected. These mosquitoes lay eggs and breed in stagnant water, so it is essential to dry out any such areas.
🌍 The Aedes mosquito is a vector for dangerous diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika virus. These diseases can cause severe symptoms including fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, and skin rashes, and in severe cases, can be fatal.
🌍 Recent outbreaks of dengue fever have increased in Iran, with currently 40 cities affected by the Aedes mosquito.
