Description
Methadone is a synthetic opioid which is the major drug used in addiction therapy and maintenance therapy. Methadone has no active metabolite. Its plasma concentration lasts 6–8 hours and increases with extended use. The onset of effect is within 0.5–1 hour and can last up to 12 hours with regular use.
